How to get there
Trailhead Access
It can be said that there are two main options. Starting from downtown Guadalajara, you can take the Highway to Vallarta + Highway to Nextipac and reach the town of Santa Lucía (before reaching the capital of Tesistán). Another option is to take Juan Gil Preciado Avenue towards Tesistán and continue straight to Santa Lucía. Once in Santa Lucía, take the road to La Mesita. It is approximately 6 km of road to reach the ranch where the route begins. The Santa Lucía road at the start of the route is not in very good condition; driving at low speed is recommended.
Parking Information
There is no parking as such, but vehicles can be parked on the side of the road, without obstructing access or free movement.
Fees & Park Hours
August 2025: This route does not involve access costs.
Trail Overview
Excellent. Since the path is worked out, it is very easy to follow it. There are practically no route variants, but the road does border on other gaps. Just pay attention to Wikiloc.

Level 3 route. It is a route suitable for beginners where there is just over 400 m of positive elevation gain distributed over approximately 3 km of distance (climb only). The slope of the road is moderately steep, so some sections can be exhausting. However, it's a great option for beginners with good physical condition. It is a route comparable to Cerro de Bugambilias by the direct route.
