Enjoy the best views of Monterrey from the Copete de las Águilas in Chipinque Park. A hiking adventure awaits you!
You can access the Chipinque Ecological Park by entering Gómez Morín Avenue, in the municipality of San Pedro, where you drive south and follow the traffic signs to enter the park. The access to the park is where there is an access booth to the park. Continue along the same street until you reach “La Meseta” located approximately 7 kilometers from the main entrance.
The Chipinque Ecological Park has several marked and guarded parking lots with surveillance. The parking lot we recommend the most is the one located at the height of “La Meseta” since it is the closest to the start of the route. On the other hand, you can park in the lower part of the park, but we recommend taking extra time to climb the sidewalk since you have to be at the entrance to the sidewalk no later than 8AM. Otherwise, you could be punished with a revocation of the permit.
Admission to the park costs $85 per person; however, the park offers several packages where the more tickets are purchased, a proportional discount is made, for example: when buying 2 tickets, the total amount is $120 (instead of $140). On the other hand, to climb to the Chipinque peaks, it is necessary to carry out a small procedure to acquire the corresponding permit to climb peaks, which in the case of La 'M' and El Copete de las Águilas, cost $380. The ticket is purchased directly on their website.
Gloves for short climbs, helmet for the rock climbing section, headlamp, first aid kit, thermal blanket, whistle in case of emergency.
The route is quite well laid out almost all the way; reaching the summit (approx. 300 meters) there are some small climbs which at first glance would not seem to be part of the road, so we recommend that you take a couple of minutes to check the route to avoid wasting time and/or accidents. There are also arrows painted on the stones, slats and marks of walkers.
