How to get there
Trailhead Access
It is located 43 kilometers southwest of the City of Toluca, and is reached by the Toluca-Sultepec highway, passing the town of Raíces with a detour to the volcano, covering 18 kilometers of dirt road to the top.
Parking Information
The Nevado de Toluca park has a large and secure car park, this time we were not charged for the entrance to the parking lot.
Fees & Park Hours
If you want to go up the dirt road in a van, you will have to pay $50 to go down about 800 meters before reaching the lagoons.
Trail Overview
The route layout is initially quite recognizable in the tourist area of Lagunas del Sol y de la Luna, however, higher-level routes or routes that reach a summit are usually not as visible, so it is advisable to always be accompanied by a guide or someone who knows the way and also carry a Wikiloc.
