How to get there

Trailhead Access

This peak is located on the Cerro de las Mitras, the route through Pedro Infante is the most direct way to get there. To get there, you can start with La Salle Cumbres.

Parking Information

You should avoid parking in the area around the curve as there are usually school trucks that can be blocked from entering. I recommend parking parallel to the school or on the street. If it's a weekend, you can park above the school entrance. Try to avoid blocking school and house entrances. Always try to leave your car in a public space, this may be before arriving at school and walking a little to get to the beginning of the sidewalk.

Trail Overview

The route is very easy to follow. You just have to pay attention to the signs on the stones and slats and follow the path. Be vigilant when they approach the summit as you could pass by and follow the path to the mines.

Recommended Gear

Wear a headlamp. (only if the tour takes place during the afternoon-night).

This route has a level 3 physical difficulty based on our difficulty classification metric. This means that the slope of this climb falls between 400 and 600 meters. It is a route of moderate physical demand. It is preferable to do this route in the fall and winter season since the miter area is usually quite hot and there are parts exposed to the sun. It is a recommended route to take in the morning on days that are not too hot. The climb has a constant slope from start to finish, there are small pieces where the route will be more horizontal. The summit will be in the middle of a path, which continues towards the Mithras mines, so you should be aware of Wikiloc so you don't overdo it. You climb a small portion of a stone and you will reach the Pico Piquín viewpoint area, commonly called the summit.
